Sybiha Meets Outgoing U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Stresses Importance of American Leadership in Peace Efforts

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Ukraine Julie Davis to mark the completion of her diplomatic mission in the country, UATV English reports.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed the current security situation and ongoing peace efforts. Sybiha underscored the importance of an active U.S. role and leadership in advancing the peace process and achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace for Ukraine.

The foreign minister thanked Davis for her personal contribution to strengthening political dialogue between Ukraine and the United States and for maintaining effective cooperation during a critical period for Ukraine.

“We are grateful to the United States for its unwavering support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We highly appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening the Ukrainian-American strategic partnership. It is especially important today to maintain the strong momentum of our cooperation and jointly make proactive decisions that bring a comprehensive and lasting peace for Ukraine closer,” Sybiha said.

He also highlighted the recent meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump in France on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, saying it reaffirmed the shared commitment of Ukraine and the United States to further strengthening their strategic partnership and coordinating efforts to achieve peace.

Sybiha additionally expressed gratitude to the American people for their solidarity with Ukraine and emphasized the importance of preserving bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.

The minister wished Davis success in her future diplomatic career and congratulated the United States ahead of the 250th anniversary of its independence, wishing the American people peace and prosperity.

“Ukraine highly values its friendship with the United States. I am confident that our strategic partnership will continue to grow stronger for the benefit of our countries and peoples, as well as our shared cause of defending freedom, democracy, and international law,” Sybiha said.
