President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian intelligence has obtained new evidence showing a worsening fuel shortage, military logistics disruptions, and governance problems in Russian-occupied Crimea, alongside growing public anxiety inside Russia.
In a statement on Telegram, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service had acquired documents indicating that the crisis in occupied Crimea is intensifying on an almost daily basis, UATV English reports.
“The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine has obtained materials that indicate an almost daily deepening of the fuel crisis, military logistics problems, and governance issues in Crimea,” the president said.
According to Zelenskyy, the Russian occupation authorities have effectively acknowledged that they are unable to resolve the problems created by Ukraine’s “medium-range sanctions” against the occupying forces and its campaign of “long-range sanctions” targeting Russia’s oil refining industry.
He added that similar trends are emerging in other regions of Russia.
The president also said Ukrainian intelligence had obtained internal Russian documents assessing public sentiment inside the country.
According to those assessments, more than 50% of Russians now report higher levels of anxiety than during Ukraine’s Kursk operation, while 66% describe their financial situation as difficult. In addition, more than 80% reportedly believe that Russia faces an inevitable large-scale economic crisis.
“These are completely transparent indicators reflecting the failure of Putin’s wartime policy,” Zelenskyy said.
