At a session of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian president-elect Volodymyr Zelenskyi will take the oath of office, at 10:00am Kyiv time on May 20, 2019.
A total of 315 MPs voted for the resolution, No. 10270-2, at a parliament meeting on May 16, 2019, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
Zelenskyi had requested that Ukrainian MPs set the date for his inauguration for May 19, 2019.
However, May 19 is the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, and some politicians, historians and activists felt this date was inappropriate for the inauguration of the newly elected president.
