During his official visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with President of the German Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble.

Zelensky spoke about the first legislative initiatives he plans to implement after the election of the new parliament. In particular, the launch of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, the adoption of the laws on liability for illegal enrichment, on impeachment and abolition of parliamentary immunity.

“These are the initiatives that Ukrainians have been dreaming of for 28 years,” Zelensky said.

During the meeting, the issues of ending the war and returning the captives were discussed. Zelensky noted that the exchange of people at least 10 for 10 or 15 for 15 could indicate the desire of the other party to begin the process of de-escalation.

He also said that Ukraine was starting the project of Donbas reconstruction.

“And Europe can help us here. We need to rebuild schools, kindergartens, roads,” Zelensky said.
