President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the residents of Mariupol on the fifth anniversary of the liberation of the city from the illegal armed groups.
“You are free, you are true Ukrainians! I am grateful to you for saving Mariupol. Mariupol is Ukraine!” Zelensky said during the events on the occasion of the anniversary.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of a conscious approach to propaganda. He noted that it should not influence the inhabitants of Mariupol, as they are strong people.
Separately, he thanked the soldiers and volunteers who defended Mariupol. The attendees honored the memory of the fallen heroes with a moment of silence.
Zelensky also visited a fair in the city center and talked with Mariupol residents. At the fair, he bought toys for his children.
