Zelensky Confirms Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic Future in Canada

At a meeting with Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine maintains its course toward full EU and NATO membership.

He also expressed hope for further cooperation with Canada on Euro-Atlantic integration.

“The President thanked Canada for the consistent comprehensive support of Ukraine at the bilateral level and as part of multilateral cooperation formats, in particular, the G-7 and the UN. Volodymyr Zelensky and Chrystia Freeland stressed the importance of consolidating an international coalition to counter Russian aggression,” the president’s press service reported.

Zelensky also thanked Freeland for organizing the international Ukraine Reform Conference, which started in Toronto today.

Zelensky will also meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker, European Commissioner Elzbieta Bienkowska, representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, as well as attend a ceremony to commemorate the Holodomor victims among other events.
