President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will be on a working visit to Turkey on August 7-8, according the presidential press service.
During the visit, Zelensky will have meetings with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. The president will also meet with representatives of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar communities.
In Istanbul, Zelensky will have a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople as well.
In addition, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu confirmed Turkey’s position regarding Russia’s occupation of Crimea and the oppression of Crimean Tatars.
“At the 11th meeting of the ambassadors to the Republic of Turkey, Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made clear his unwavering stance on the non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea and continuation of an active policy for protecting the rights of Crimean Tatars,” Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Andri Sybiha posted on Twitter, reports Ukrinform.
The Ukrainian ambassador thanked the Turkish foreign minister for this position.
