Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out overnight strikes against Russia’s Ilsky oil refinery, oil infrastructure, and the port of Taganrog, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD)UATV English reports.

“Ilsky oil refinery, oil infrastructure, the port in Taganrog — Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to systematically strike Russia’s oil sector, logistics, and economy,” Kovalenko said.

According to Russian authorities, a fire broke out at the Ilsky refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region after drone debris fell on the facility. The Ilsky refinery is one of southern Russia’s largest oil-processing plants, with an annual processing capacity of approximately 6.6 million tonnes of crude oil and a significant share of its petroleum products exported abroad.

Russian Telegram channels and local media also reported that the Kursknefteprodukt oil terminal in the port of Taganrog caught fire following the attack. The terminal has an annual transshipment capacity of about 1.2 million tonnes, while local authorities reportedly began evacuating residents from the affected area.

Preliminary reports also indicated that a fuel storage facility in the city of Azov was struck, triggering another fire despite anti-drone protective netting installed at the site.

In addition, Russian sources claimed that the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant was targeted during the attack. The defense enterprise manufactures optical-electronic systems, radar equipment, fire-control systems, thermal imaging devices, and components used in Russian aircraft, armored vehicles, naval vessels, and missile systems. The facility is part of Russia’s Tactical Missiles Corporation.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed its air defenses intercepted 376 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea, and over the Sea of Azov.

The latest strikes follow reports that the Saratov oil refinery suspended operations after suffering damage in a separate Ukrainian drone attack earlier this week.
