Ukraine has received a second disbursement of approximately $690 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under its new four-year lending program, Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced on July 23, UATV English reports.
According to Koretskyi, the funds have already been transferred to Ukraine’s state budget and will be used to support the country’s macrofinancial stability, including financing priority government expenditures.
The IMF approved the $8.1 billion program for Ukraine in February 2026. The facility covers the period from 2026 to 2029 and was designed to reflect the country’s updated macroeconomic outlook and security environment.
The latest payment follows the first disbursement under the program, when Ukraine received $1.5 billion in March 2026.
Ukrainian officials have previously described the IMF program as the cornerstone of the country’s broader international financial support, helping underpin assistance from other international partners and financial institutions.
