Ukraine received 1,300 tons of US military aid in 2022

February 11, Kyiv received another cargo with Washington’s military assistance to Ukraine. Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov reported this on Facebook.

“The birds are flying in, as if returning from a vortex! On February 11, another 90 tons of ammunition arrived from the United States for Ukraine’s Armed Forces.”

According to Reznikov, the total weight of military aid is already 1,300 tons.

Earlier this week, two planes with 130 tons of military aid from the United States arrived in Ukraine.

Amid the growing threat of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, a number of countries are sending their military assistance to support the Kyiv government. Earlier, 2,000 anti-tank weapons were sent by the UK. In February, Canada has sent a plane to Ukraine with a cargo of non-lethal weapons and instructors. The UK has sent 30 elite troops and 2,000 NLAW anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine amid fears of the Russian invasion.

In addition, the Czech Republic has assured its readiness to provide Ukraine with 152 mm caliber ammunition for heavy artillery. The Baltic states also plan to transfer weapons, including Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems. Netherlands and Denmark do not exclude the supply of weapons to help Kyiv in deterring Russian aggression.

In general, the West’s military assistance to Ukraine amounted to $ 1.5 billion.

As reported before, the first batch of US soldiers arrived in Poland and Romania with the bulk of the contingent to follow. It is planned to send nearly 3,000 extra troops to Poland and Romania to shield NATO eastern flanks.
