Ninth plane with military aid from Washington arrives in Kyiv

February 9, the ninth aircraft arrived with military assistance from the United States of America arrived in Kyiv. Ukraine’s Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov announced this on his Twitter.

Earlier today, a plane with a new batch of military aid from the UK landed in Ukraine. The cargo contains personal combat protective equipment – bulletproof vests and helmets. The board was met by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Vyacheslav Shapovalov. He emphasized that obtaining a new party is possible thanks to the agreements between Boris Johnson and Volodymyr Zelensky. First of all, assistance will be sent to the border units of the territorial defense.

Amid the growing threat of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki stated that his country was ready to transfer tens of thousands of shells and artillery ammunition, “Piorun” anti-aircraft system, light mortars, reconnaissance drones, and other defensive weapons.

US nine planes delivered several hundred tons of weapons and ammunition to Kyiv. Earlier, 2,000 anti-tank weapons were sent by the UK. In February, Canada has sent a plane to Ukraine with a cargo of non-lethal weapons and instructors. The UK has sent 30 elite troops and 2,000 NLAW anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine amid fears of the Russian invasion.

In addition, the Czech Republic has assured its readiness to provide Ukraine with 152 mm caliber ammunition for heavy artillery. The Baltic states also plan to transfer weapons, including Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems. Netherlands and Denmark do not exclude the supply of weapons to help Kyiv in deterring Russian aggression.

As reported before, the first batch of US soldiers arrived in Poland and Romani with the bulk of the contingent to follow. It is planned to send nearly 3,000 extra troops to Poland and Romania to shield NATO eastern flanks.
