U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will purchase drones from Ukraine, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is losing ground in the war and that the battlefield initiative has shifted to Ukraine, UATV English reports.

Speaking after their meeting on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is increasingly relying on advanced technologies and rapid operations to gain an advantage over Russian forces.

“Putin is losing positions in this war. We are using many technologies and acting quickly. The initiative is on our side, and we are beginning to control the battlefield,” Zelenskyy said.

Trump agreed that mounting pressure is being placed on the Kremlin.

“We are putting pressure on Putin. He doesn’t like what is happening,” the U.S. president said.

Asked whether he would be willing to travel to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelenskyy responded with a joke.

“It is difficult. Ukrainian drones are flying there,” he said.

The Ukrainian president has previously stated that he is ready to meet Putin in a third country to discuss ending the war.

Trump also said he intends to visit Ukraine, although not while active hostilities continue.

“I will come to Ukraine. But I don’t know whether my security service will allow it during the war,” Trump said, adding that he hopes to visit Kyiv after the war ends.

The U.S. president also announced that Washington plans to purchase Ukrainian-made drones, highlighting the growing defense-industrial cooperation between the two countries.

“The United States will buy drones from Ukraine,” Trump said.

“If we reach a settlement, we’ll have an agreement. Then security guarantees won’t be necessary, and there won’t be a need to close the skies”, the US President on whether he’s prepared to close the skies over Ukraine if Putin attacks Ukraine again.
