On August 5 new rules for entering the country started operating in Ukraine. They concern both foreigners and Ukrainians.

UA reports this.

The new rules have been introduced to prevent the spread of the Delta coronavirus strain. Thus, entry for citizens of Ukraine remains free if there is a document confirming the full course of vaccination against coronavirus, or a certificate of the first vaccination. If there is no such document, Ukrainians will have to go for a 10-day self-isolation.

For Ukrainians self-isolation starts 72 hours after crossing the border. It is not necessary in case of negative PCR or express test. However, this does not apply to those who arrived from Russia or India.

Ukrainians who went abroad before August 4 and Ukrainians under the age of 18 are not subject to self-isolation.

The same rules apply when crossing the checkpoints with Crimea and temporarily uncontrolled separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine.

When crossing the Ukrainian border, foreigners and stateless people should present an insurance policy and one of 3 documents:

  • PCR test for coronavirus, done no later than 72 hours before entry;
  • express coronavirus test done no later than 72 hours before entry;
  • a certificate of full vaccination with vaccines which the WHO allows using in emergency situations.

For all persons, regardless of citizenship, who arrived from Russia or India and have been on the territory of those states for more than 7 days in the past two weeks, rules for staying on self-isolation will apply. In particular, a mandatory 14-day self-isolation will be introduced without the right to terminate it early.

Self-isolation is not necessary for people under 18, members of official delegations of foreign states, employees of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states.
