The goals of the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Legion “Freedom of Russia” in the Belgorod region were named by a military-political observer

Influence on the population of the Russian Federation is not included in the tasks of the “Russian Volunteer Corps” (RDC) and the Legion “Freedom of Russia”. Their main goals are to pull the forces of the Russian army from the territory of Ukraine and create a buffer zone. This opinion was expressed on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the military-political observer of the Information Resistance group, Alexander Kovalenko.

He noted that if at least one out of a hundred Russians changes their views and takes an active part in the de-occupation of the Russian Federation, this is already a good result, but not the main goal.

“Today, the main goal is to reduce the presence of Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine. That is, the creation of such conditions that they were forced to distribute the resource, taking it from the combat zone to the Russian Federation. The second task is to create a buffer zone,” Kovalenko said.

According to him, the Russians do not have the resources to completely close the border with Ukraine.

“About 17 thousand personnel are concentrated along the border with Ukraine near the Russian army. This number is enough to keep on the defensive from 25 to 50 km of the border, no more. And the border with the unoccupied part of Ukraine near Russia is almost 700 km. That is, they can control 14 times less than they need, ”the military-political observer noted.

He emphasized that the Russians cannot allocate the necessary number of people to control the entire border.

“In any case, a stalemate will be created that will affect both the internal situation in the Russian Federation itself and, of course, the war zone, which will be extremely negative for the Russian occupation units,” Kovalenko summed up.

Recall that on May 22, Russian volunteer formations entered the territory of Russia from the territory of Ukraine and established control over a number of settlements.

Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and the Freedom of Russia Legion held a press conference, during which they summed up the results of the raid in the Belgorod Region. Legionnaires went deep into the Russian Federation for 42 km and during the day controlled some settlements of the Russian Federation. They also managed to seize armored vehicles and weapons of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, some military documents and take a prisoner.

On June 2, the Russian volunteer corps went on another raid in the Belgorod region. The fighting took place in the vicinity of the city of Shebekino.
