Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has called on international partners to intensify pressure on Russia across multiple domains, arguing that only a comprehensive strategy can force the Kremlin to abandon its war against Ukraine.
In a statement published on X, Sybiha stressed that Russia’s ability to continue the war depends on military, economic, political, and technological resources that should be systematically targeted by Ukraine and its allies, UATV English reports.
“The right strategy to force Putin to end the war is to deprive him of oxygen — militarily, economically, politically, and technologically,” the foreign minister wrote.
According to Sybiha, Ukraine is already taking active steps in this direction through what he described as “long-range sanctions,” precision strikes against military targets, and efforts to disrupt Russian logistics supporting occupation forces.
The minister argued that Ukraine’s partners should complement these efforts by increasing pressure on Moscow in all available areas.
“We urge our allies to strengthen pressure on Russia across every domain. We must weaken Russia’s war machine, reduce the resources available for financing the war, and eliminate any illusion in Moscow that military objectives can still be achieved on the battlefield,” Sybiha said.
He emphasized that no single measure would be sufficient on its own, but that a combination of military, economic, diplomatic, and technological restrictions could create the conditions necessary to change Russia’s calculations.
According to the foreign minister, the cumulative effect of stronger sanctions, tighter export controls, military pressure, and diplomatic isolation could significantly affect the Kremlin’s ability to sustain its war effort.
“A critical mass of such measures can genuinely alter the situation,” Sybiha noted.
He stressed that time remains a crucial factor and warned against delaying additional actions.
“Together, we can deprive the Putin regime of the resources it needs and leave it with no alternative but to end the war. But action must be taken now, not later,” he said.
The minister’s appeal came amid continued Ukrainian strikes against military and economic targets inside Russia and in occupied territories.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently confirmed attacks on Russian naval logistics facilities, oil-industry infrastructure, and air-defense systems located on both sides of the Crimean Bridge.
Earlier, on June 20, Ukrainian forces struck the Antipinsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Tyumen region, approximately 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, demonstrating Kyiv’s growing long-range strike capabilities.
Ukrainian officials increasingly argue that sustained pressure on Russia’s military logistics, defense industry, energy sector, and financial resources is essential to reducing Moscow’s ability to continue the war and creating conditions for a just and lasting peace.
