Poroshenko Awards Sergeant Sabina Halytska Posthumously

President Petro Poroshenko, posthumously awarded Seargeant Sabina Halytska of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, with the Order for Courage.

“For the courage, valor and heroism manifested by Sergeant Halytska Sabina Stanislavovna, I, as the President, as the Supreme Commander, decided to decorate Sabina with the Order For Courage,” Poroshenko said.

Halytska was killed on February 20, 2018, because of shelling in the ATO zone.

“This is the occasion well-known by the whole world, when the Ukrainian warrior, Ukrainian girl, goes to rescue people, and Russian aggressors and their mercenaries fire at the armored car,” the president said.

Her parents attended the ceremony and accepted the award.
