As the newly elected Parliament continues to take shape as votes are still being counted, leaders from parties who will hold seats once the Parliament is seated are wasting no time stating their goals and messages.
The newly formed Holos party has said that they will put forth their leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk for the position of Prime Minister.
The head of the party, Yulia Klymenko, said this at a briefing at the party’s election headquarters on July 21, 2019.
“We really understand that Svyatoslav Vakarchuk can be a political prime minister, given that the Cabinet of Ministers will be formed on the basis of technocratic, professional and patriotic ministers and this will allow the government to work efficiently,” Klymenko said.
According to her, after the announcement of the final election results, in particular with regard to candidates running in single-member constituencies from each party, Holos will be ready to submit its proposals concerning candidates for ministries and executive government bodies.
Holos also stated that it will not work with any pro-Russian political party or politicians in the new Parliament. The head of the party, Yulia Klymenko, told Ukrinform of this position.
“We have a one hundred percent pro-Ukrainian position. We are not ready to consider any movements not in this direction. We are not ready to cooperate with them [pro-Russian parties]. We will be in categorical opposition to them,” she said.
Meanwhile, the party lead by former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, European Solidarity, has said that it will work with President Volodymyr Zelensky as long as he continues the path towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

“If President Zelensky implements what he stated [continuation of the course of European and Euro-Atlantic integration], I will definitely support him and Ukraine’s path towards Europe,” Poroshenko said, reports Ukrinform.
According to him, this is the main task for the state.
The newly created Servant of the People party, created to support President Zelensky, has said that it plans to merge several ministries in order to streamline government operations. The ministries include the Culture Ministry, the Information Policy Ministry and the Youth and Sports Ministry, director general of the 1+1 television channel Oleksandr Tkachenko has told online news site theBabel reports Ukrinform.

“The discussion about this merger is currently underway. We are inspired by the experience of Singapore, Great Britain and France,” he said.
According to Tkachenko, this discussion continues in the party team. When aked whether this issue was discussed with the prime minister, he said it was “a matter of a political decision at the level of a coalition.”
“But we will initiate this discussion,” Tkachenko said.
He also stressed that he does not see himself as the head of such a united ministry, but knows good people who can take up the post if the merger happens.
