One of the complications of COVID-19 is thrombosis – Ministry of Health

Among the complications of coronavirus disease COVID-19 studies are often called thrombosis.

This was reported by UA with reference to the Facebook page of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“There is now growing scientific evidence of coagulation disorders, which lead to blood clots, in patients with COVID-19. Some studies claim that pulmonary embolism is present in more than half of those who die from COVID-19. Another study conducted in France and the Netherlands shows that about 20-30% of patients who have severe coronavirus disease have thrombotic complications” – the report said.

The Ministry of Health assures that the methods of treatment and prevention of thrombosis are known to doctors.

“In any case, thrombosis in patients with COVID-19 is a fairly common phenomenon that can have irreversible consequences for human life” – the Ministry of Health added.

To remind, more than 10 million Ukrainians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
