Ministry of Health of Ukraine: 98% of hospitalized with coronavirus in Ukraine – unvaccinated

In Ukraine, the epidemic situation is deteriorating rapidly. 98.1% of people hospitalized with coronavirus in the last three months were unvaccinated.

This was reported by UA with reference to the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“According to the Electronic Health Care System, in the last 3 months, almost everyone who is hospitalized due to a severe course or complications of COVID-19 in Ukraine is unvaccinated” – said Chief State Sanitary doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin.

He added that the epidemic situation is rapidly deteriorating now, the number of new cases of COVID-19 per day has doubled over the past week: from 3,300 on Monday, September 13, to more than 6,000 on Friday, 17 September.

People over 60 years, people with comorbidities such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer are in the area of ​​highest risk of severe course and death from COVID-19. And those who are in daily contact with a large number of people – doctors, educators, social workers, government officials. 

Three vaccines are currently available in Ukraine: AstraZeneca, CoronaVac from Sinovac, Comirnaty from Pfizer. A total of 11 million doses of different vaccines are available.
