Lesia Tsurenko Continues Winning at Monterrey Open

Ukrainian tennis player, Lesia Tsurenko, paired with Irina Falconi from the United States, won their opening round match against the fourth-seeded Russian-Belarusian duo, Anna Blinkova and Lidziya Marozava, in the Women’s Doubles at the Monterrey Open.

The score was 3-6, 6-3, 10-8, BTU reported.

The Ukrainian-American duo were leading 9-4 in the match tiebreak. Their opponents managed to make it 9-8, but Tsurenko and Falconi managed to convert their fifth match point.

They are now in the quarterfinals.

In singles, Tsurenko will compete tomorrow against the American, Danielle Collins, for a place in the quarterfinals. Previously, Collins reached the semifinals at the Miami Open.

Tsurenko is on a 11 match winning streak, after having won the Mexican Open in Acapulco in March.

Earlier, Lesia Tsurenko won her opening round match against Japan’s Nao Hibino at the Monterrey Open.
