Dutch prosecutors demand life imprisonment for Girkin and other perpetrators in the MH17 case

On December 22, during a hearing in the MH17 case in the Netherlands, the prosecutor asked the court to classify the actions of the 4 defendants under the article on the destruction of the aircraft, which foresees life imprisonment.

The former leader of the so-called DPR militants Igor Girkin (Strelkov), his deputy Sergei Dubinsky (Khmury) and subordinates of Oleg Pulatov (Gyurza, Khalif) and Leonid Kharchenko (Mole) are accused of downing of MH17 flight in the skies over Donbas.

“We demand that the accused Girkin, Dubinsky, Pulatov and Kharchenko receive life sentences for the air crash as part of an organized group that led to the death of 298 people” – the prosecutor said.

The next court hearing will take place on March 7, the final decision may be made by the court at the end of 2022.
