Hearings in case of downed MH17 resumed in the Netherlands

The block of hearings in the case of the downed flight MH17 has started in the Netherlands. The court plans to hear the results of the work of the investigating judge, the claims of the injured parties, the floor will also be given to the relatives of the victims.

Meetings are scheduled for November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 and 17.

There are four defendants in the case – three Russian citizens and one Ukrainian:

Igor Girkin (Strilkov);

Sergey Dubinsky;

Oleg Pulatov;

Leonid Kharchenko.

They are accused of killing 298 passengers and crashing an airliner.

To remind, the trial began on March 9, 2020 in the Schiphol court complex near Amsterdam. Malaysia Airlines Boeing-777, flight MH17 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) was shot down in the sky over the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board were killed. Two thirds of the passengers were citizens of the Netherlands. The causes of the crash are being investigated by an International Investigation Team, which includes law enforcement officials from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and Malaysia.
