Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held separate meetings with Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus and Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in Brussels, focusing on new military aid and cooperation on air defense and anti-ballistic capabilities.

According to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, Fedorov congratulated Bruus on his appointment and thanked Denmark for its continued support, UATV English reports.

The Ukrainian minister briefed his Danish counterpart on the battlefield situation, emphasizing that Ukraine is regaining the initiative and pursuing its own defense strategy.

The two sides discussed the results of Ukraine’s middle-strike and deep-strike operations, with Kyiv expressing gratitude for Danish investments in longer-range munitions.

“Denmark is preparing a new aid package that includes support under the Danish model. Ukraine expects this package to be approved as soon as possible and in sufficient volume to take advantage of the current window of opportunity on the battlefield,” the Defense Ministry said.

The ministers also discussed industrial cooperation, work on anti-ballistic capabilities, and cooperation within the Drone Deal initiative. Denmark reaffirmed its support for training centers for Ukrainian troops.

During a separate meeting with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, Fedorov thanked Rome for its consistent support and discussed additional steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.

The two sides also explored the possibility of Italy joining a joint European anti-ballistic missile project.

“Italian companies could participate in the project, including by supplying one of the components required for such a system,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

The talks come after Ukraine and Germany signed an agreement opening the way for the joint development of a new air defense system designed to intercept ballistic missiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for tangible progress on the anti-ballistic initiative before the onset of winter.
