Russian controlled forces launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions over the past day, the press center of the JFO Headquarters reported.
Positions of the Ukrainian military came under fire from small arms, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, and infantry fighting vehicles near six Ukrainian towns and villages.
In the zone of action of the tactical force East, the enemy attacked twice near the village of Pavlopil, twice near the village of Vodiane. One attack was launched near villages of Bohdanivka and Lebedynske.
In the zone of action of the tactical force North, Russian controlled forces launched two attacks near the town of Travneve, and one near the town of Pivdenne, in particular, delivering fire from the 120mm mortars, banned under Minsk agreements near Pivdenne.
As a result of the past day’s ceasefire violations, four Ukrainian soldiers were killed and one was wounded.
It was during the first attack on Pavlopil at 10:20 a.m. that the four soldiers were killed by grenade fire.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on this violation of the unlimited ceasefire agreed to by the Trilateral Contact Group and set from July 21, 2019.
“Today’s incident is aimed to disrupt not only the current truce but the whole negotiation process. Ukraine seeks peace wholeheartedly. And our commitment to it is unwavering. Today, the whole world has seen who is the one who does not want peace,” he wrote on Facebook.
According to the JFO press report, during past day’s attacks, the Ukrainian military recognized the ceasefire agreement.
