President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, decided not to hold a military parade on Independence Day. Instead, 300 million hryvnias will be allocated to soldier directly. Zelensky stated this in a video address.

“Usually on August 24, on Independence Day of Ukraine, we have a military parade – pompous and certainly not cheap. This year, instead of the parade, it is better to allocate this money to our heroes. And we have decided to allocate 300 million hryvnias to the military. These are regular soldiers, cadets, sergeants, officers – everyone. And, of course, the military in the JFO area,” Zelensky said.

At the same time, he noted that the celebration of Independence Day of Ukraine and the ceremony of paying tribute to the heroes on the occasion of the holiday would take place in a new format.
