Newly-elected President Volodymyr Zelensky signed his first law, a law granting vacation to adoptive parents.
“The law establishes new rules for granting leave to adoptive parents of orphan children. Earlier, a paid leave was granted in the case of adoption of a newborn child, but now a 56-day paid leave is granted, excluding holidays and non-working days, in the case of adoption of a child by one of the spouses,” Zelesnky’s team wrote on Facebook.
It is noted on the page of law No. 2728-VIII “On the introduction of amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the provision of a vacation to adoptive parents upon adoption of an orphaned child, a child deprived of parental care” on the website of the Verkhovna Rada that the document was returned on Wednesday with the president’s signature.
