In the coming weeks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi wants parliament to give priority to a presidential impeachment bill.

Along with the impeachment bill, a parliamentary election bill, and parliamentary immunity lifting are Zelenskyi’s top priorities, his representative in parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk said, RBC-Ukraine reported.

“Last week, the president introduced a bill on a special procedure for removing the president from the post-impeachment. In addition, the president sent a letter to the Verkhovna Rada’s chairman with a request to urgently consider Parliamentary immunity lifting draft law. Last week we introduced the parliament election bill on ensuring the electoral rights of servicemen. I want to request that all these issues require extraordinary preparation and President defines them as urgent,” he said.

The Verkhovna Rada did not designate Zelenskyi’s draft law on impeachment procedure as urgent.

On May 29 Zelenskyi’s draft impeachment bill was made public.
