Talks of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine will resume on June 5, 2019.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this to the Novoye Vremya portal, as reported by Ukrinform.
“The Minsk platform will resume its work. As far as I understand, this should happen on June 5,” Klimkin said.
According to him, next week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi will present a new team of negotiators from Ukraine. There will be both well-known and new people, the minister added.
On May 16, 2019, First Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko said that “there are debates on resetting Minsk groups.” On the same day, she reported that she had filed a letter of resignation from the posts of presidential commissioner on the peaceful settlement in Donbas and Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian group.
On May 19, 2019, Ukraine’s representative in the Trilateral Contact Group Yevhen Marchuk announced that he had ceased participation in the Minsk talks.
