Chair of Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, believes that Ukraine is facing a potential crisis associated with the actions of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
Parubiy said this during the parliamentary session on Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The country faces hard times, and unfortunately, there is a crisis that is associated with the actions of the President. Yesterday’s announcement of the transcript [the President’s consultations with the faction chairs] confirmed this. Moreover, yesterday we heard the representatives of the President, members of his team say that it is necessary to revoke the language law, to cancel quotas, to abolish decommunization and, unfortunately, today it becomes a usual politic practice for them. So I want to say on behalf of the Verkhovna Rada and the government: Ukrainian people will not let you do this, the earth will be burning under your feet,” said Parubiy.
He said that he would allow neither to abolish the language law, nor the law on decommunization, because Ukrainian people had been working for decades towards that.
