Zelenskyi Could Sign Decree to Dissolve Parliament Wednesday

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi plans to sign a decree dissolving parliament Wednesday.

“According to the president of Ukraine, such a decree may be issued tomorrow, and elections may be scheduled for July 21 this year,”  Vitaliy Khomutynnik, the co-chairman of the Revival party said after meeting with Zelenskyi, theBabel reported.

After the decree is signed, at least 60 days will need to pass before snap elections can be held.

Zelenskyi took over the presidency on Monday and announced the decision to dissolve parliament in his inaugural address.

He urged deputies to approve certain laws before the elections such as the removal of parliamentary immunity.
