German Chancellor Angela Merkel expects to meet with Ukrainian president-elect Volodymyr Zelensky in the near future, but a date for such a meeting has not been announced yet.
A spokesperson of the Federal Government of Germany said this at a briefing, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“I cannot say anything about a specific date. However, as we know, the chancellor always has a great interest in the development of the situation in Ukraine and, of course, will have in mind the possibility of an early meeting,” the spokesperson said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi is scheduled to be inaugurated on May 20, 2019 at 10.00am.
