The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine banned the import of 17 Russian books that it determined were propaganda, the committee’s press-service said.
“Signs of propaganda of the aggressor state, its authorities, imperial geopolitical doctrines, and the communist totalitarian regime were found in the books of the Moscow publishing houses Sindbad, Azbooka-Atticus Publishing Group LLC, and the Samara publishing house Bakhrach-M,” the press-release said.
A version of Mikhail Bulgakov’s “Master and Margarita,” where a preface mentions supporters of military intervention in Ukraine, and Oliver Stone’s-Peter Kuznick’s “The Untold History of the United States” were among those banned.
Since May 20, 2017, when the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers empowered the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting to ban book, there’ve been 5,827 refusals.
