For the overnight attack on Ukraine, the Russians used 13 missiles, eight of them ballistic, along with attack drones. This night’s attack was already the sixth ballistic strike on Kyiv in July alone. Moscow is counting on terror through ballistic missiles and continues its strikes, and it’s now very important to speed up deliveries of interceptors for air defense. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized this today, July 16, on Telegram, UATV English reports.

“As of now, two people are known to have been killed in Kyiv as a result of the Russian missile strike tonight. Five are wounded, including a child. The Russians damaged an apartment building, warehouse premises, and vehicles. Four people were injured as a result of Russian strikes on Kharkiv region. The region was attacked with drones and an aerial bomb. Ordinary residential buildings and completely civilian sites were damaged: a cinema, tennis courts. An ordinary park was hit in Sumy, and a tractor crew was attacked in the region. Apartment buildings were damaged in Zaporizhzhia. There is damage to power grid facilities in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk regions,” the Ukrainian president said.

He noted that the Kremlin is betting on ballistic terror, so it’s now critically important for Ukraine to speed up as much as possible the delivery of interceptor missiles for air defense systems.

“Every package matters, and everything we’ve agreed with our partners must arrive on time. The speed of these deliveries lets us protect our people’s lives and break Russia’s desire to keep fighting. Thank you to everyone who is helping,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy concluded.

As a reminder, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, overnight into today, July 16, Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine. Kyiv was attacked with S-400 ballistic missiles, causing large-scale fires to break out in two districts of the capital, with fatalities and injuries reported. At the same time, Kharkiv came under attack from enemy drones, with damage recorded to civilian infrastructure and the city’s central park.
