European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Presidents of Moldova and Romania, and Croatian PM Arrive in Kyiv

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has arrived in Kyiv for a visit.

She announced this on X, UATV English reports.

Von der Leyen noted that this is her 11th visit to Ukraine during the full-scale war.

“This is a special moment. Ukraine has gained powerful military momentum. The situation is changing for the better. I’ll announce new initiatives on integrating our defense industries, so we can produce more and faster,” the head of the European Commission noted.

According to her, the visit will also address Ukraine’s EU accession and preparations for winter.

Presidents of Moldova and Romania, Maia Sandu and Nicușor Dan, along with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, have also arrived in Kyiv for a visit.

This was reported by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on X, UATV English reports.

“Kyiv welcomes distinguished high-level guests on Ukrainian Statehood Day. European Commission President von der Leyen and the leaders of Southeast European countries will meet with President Zelenskyy for productive talks. We’ll hold the fifth Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit to reaffirm our partnership and cooperation on the path to the EU,” he noted.

To his post, Sybiha added photos of the leaders’ arrival in Kyiv.

According to the minister, during the visit the sides will focus on strengthening European security, developing multilateral political engagement and defense cooperation, and will discuss other pressing issues.

Sybiha added that holding the fifth Ukraine – Southeast Europe summit in Kyiv continues the series of meetings in this format, which previously took place in Athens, Tirana, Dubrovnik, and Odesa.
