Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) destroyed 32 Russian air defense assets during June, continuing a sustained campaign aimed at degrading Russia’s ability to protect its forces and control airspace, UATV English reports.
According to the Unmanned Systems Forces, operators struck a total of 12 surface-to-air missile systems and 20 radar and electronic warfare systems over the course of the month.
“In just one month, operators from the Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated 12 anti-aircraft missile systems and 20 radar and electronic warfare systems,” the command said in a statement published on Facebook.
The June operations brought the total number of Russian air defense assets destroyed by the USF during the first half of 2026 to 195.
According to the military, those losses include 120 surface-to-air missile systems and 75 radar and electronic warfare systems.
Among the destroyed missile systems were multiple short- and medium-range air defense platforms, including Tor, Buk-M3, and Pantsir systems, as well as long-range S-300 and S-400 air defense complexes.
The reported radar and electronic warfare losses include key detection and jamming systems such as Nebo-Ch, Nebo-M, Nebo-SV, Zhitel, Palantin, and the 9S19 Imbir radar, all of which play an important role in Russia’s integrated air defense network.
The Unmanned Systems Forces said the campaign is intended to systematically reduce Russia’s ability to detect, track, and intercept Ukrainian aerial platforms.
“The air defense strike campaign continues. Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces are systematically targeting enemy air defense assets, reducing Russia’s ability to control the airspace and creating a strategic advantage on the battlefield,” the statement said.
Suppressing Russian air defense systems has become one of Ukraine’s key operational priorities, enabling greater freedom of action for long-range drones, missiles, and other precision strike capabilities targeting military infrastructure, logistics hubs, and command facilities.
The latest figures underscore the growing role of unmanned systems in Ukraine’s military strategy, particularly in efforts to weaken Russian defensive networks deep behind the front line.
Earlier, the Unmanned Systems Forces reported that Ukrainian drone operators struck Russian military targets at an average rate of one successful engagement every 52 seconds throughout June, highlighting the increasing tempo of Ukraine’s drone operations.
The continued degradation of Russian air defense capabilities is viewed by Ukrainian military planners as a critical factor in expanding the effectiveness of precision strikes and maintaining operational pressure on Russian forces across multiple sectors of the battlefield.
