Estonia will contribute an additional €125,000 to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, increasing its total contribution to the fund to €2.75 million, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, UATV English reports.
“Estonia is making an additional €125,000 contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, bringing our total contribution to €2.75 million,” the ministry said in a post on X.
The ministry stressed the importance of strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure as Russia intensifies its attacks on critical facilities.
“As Russia escalates its attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, strengthening the protection of energy facilities and enhancing the resilience of energy supplies is critically important,” the ministry said.
Estonian officials noted that the country has consistently supported Ukraine’s energy sector by providing more than €3 million in donations, equipment, and technical assistance to help maintain the operation of critical infrastructure.
The announcement came as representatives of 20 countries, the European Union, and six international organizations gathered in Gdańsk for a meeting of the G7+ Ukraine Energy Coordination Group to discuss support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
