Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that all long-range strikes against Moscow and other regions of Russia are being conducted exclusively with domestically produced Ukrainian weapons, calling it evidence of a historic miscalculation by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In a statement published on X, Sybiha said Kremlin propaganda has long tried to portray the war as a confrontation with the “collective West” rather than with Ukraine itself, UATV English reports.
“Putin’s propaganda has always told Russians that they are fighting the entire ‘collective West,’ not just Ukraine. This was meant to conceal Putin’s humiliation and explain why this war has lasted longer than World War I — against a country which, according to him, did not exist and was supposed to collapse years ago,” Sybiha said.
He stressed that it is particularly significant that all recent long-range strikes on Moscow and other Russian regions have been carried out with Ukrainian-made weapons.
“But now it is especially telling that 100% of long-range strikes against Moscow and other regions of Russia are being carried out with Ukrainian-produced weapons. Russian propaganda will find it difficult to fit this into its lies,” the foreign minister said.
According to Sybiha, Putin’s decision to launch the full-scale invasion has become a “historic mistake” that is increasingly damaging for both the Russian leader and his regime.
“Putin did not simply miscalculate when he attacked Ukraine. He made a historic mistake. With every month that he refuses to acknowledge this and end the war, the situation for him and his regime will only worsen,” he said.
Sybiha added that Russia’s leader has the ability to stop the war at any moment.
“At any point in time, Putin has a way out. He simply needs to order his occupation forces to cease fire and stop the war,” the Ukrainian foreign minister said.
