Ukraine and Germany have signed a defense agreement aimed at integrating technologies and strengthening cooperation in military production, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, UATV English reports.

Addressing defense ministers and military officials, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s long-range capabilities continue to inflict significant damage on Russia’s energy sector.

“Our long-range strikes are hitting Russian oil facilities and refineries very effectively. Russia has already faced fuel shortages and declining budget revenues,” he said.

The president stressed that countering Russia’s ballistic missile attacks remains one of Ukraine’s most urgent priorities.

“Ukraine needs an answer to Russian ballistic missiles because Putin is now relying on constant missile strikes,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the president, Ukrainian air defenses currently intercept around 90% of Russian drones launched against the country.

Zelenskyy also highlighted the expansion of the Drone Deal initiative, saying it now includes 15 NATO member states and 12 non-NATO countries.

In addition, he revealed that Firepoint is moving toward the production of ballistic missiles and called on members of the anti-ballistic coalition to deliver tangible results this year.

“We need real results already this year, preferably before winter,” Zelenskyy said.

The remarks came during the latest Ramstein-format meeting, where allies discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and expanding defense-industrial cooperation amid continued Russian missile and drone attacks. The newly signed agreement with Germany is expected to deepen technological integration and support the development of advanced military capabilities.
