President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia may once again attempt to involve Belarus in its war against Ukraine, citing new intelligence reports following a briefing from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, UATV English reports.

According to Zelenskyy, construction activity has been recorded near the Belarusian border, including the building of roads toward Ukrainian territory and the establishment of artillery positions.

“According to intelligence, infrastructure is being developed near the border in Belarus, including roads leading toward Ukraine and artillery positions. We believe Russia will once again try to draw Belarus into the war,” he said.

The president also noted signs of a possible regrouping of Russian forces, likely aimed at compensating for personnel shortages.

“In this context, it becomes clearer why military activity has increased on the territory of Belarus,” he added.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine has already used official channels to warn Belarusian leadership of Kyiv’s readiness to defend its sovereignty and territory.

He also referred to recent international developments, suggesting they should serve as a warning against miscalculations.

At the same time, the president подчеркнул, that Ukrainian forces continue to maintain a high pace of eliminating Russian troops in April, with Moscow unable to seize the battlefield initiative.

Zelenskyy and Syrskyi also discussed plans for further long-range operations.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russia is preparing to deploy additional ground control stations for long-range drones both in occupied Ukrainian territories and in Belarus.
