Following U.S. bomber strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, Iran retaliated with missile attacks targeting U.S. military bases in the Middle East. Explosions were reported in Qatar, home to the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base.

This was reported by Axios.

According to Israeli and Arab sources cited by the publication, six Iranian missiles were fired at American military bases.

Meanwhile, Reuters correspondents reported explosions heard in Qatar’s capital, Doha. Prior to this, Qatar announced a temporary closure of its airspace, and the U.S. embassy urged its citizens to “remain in shelter until further notice.”

Videos showing Iranian missile strikes on Qatar began circulating online.

Additionally, the U.S. Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq activated its air defense systems.

Later, Iranian officials officially announced the launch of an operation against U.S. bases in Iraq and Qatar, named “Annunciation of Victory.” They claimed to have used the same number of missiles as the U.S. employed in their attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pazeshkian posted on social media platform X: “We were not the initiators of war and did not seek it, but we will not leave aggression against Greater Iran unanswered.”

Qatari authorities confirmed Iran’s missile strike, stating their air defense intercepted the attack. They added that Qatar reserves the right to respond.

The U.S. removed all military equipment from the base in Qatar a week ago. Iran attacked an empty base, the White House reported.
