The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has issued an official statement regarding the US strikes on the Iranian nuclear program.

The statement was published on the official website of the department.

Ukraine is convinced, the statement said, that the Iranian nuclear program must be put to an end so that it never again threatens either the countries of the Middle East or any other states.

“Peaceful efforts on nuclear non-proliferation in Iran have lasted for years, but have not been effective. Back in the spring, the US warned Iran of the consequences in the absence of constructive steps. We note that it is the aggressiveness of the Iranian regime’s actions, its long-standing destructive policy of undermining international peace and security, including its hostile attitude towards both Israel and many other nations, that have led to the current development of events,” the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry recalled that Iran is an accomplice in the crime of aggression against Ukraine – the Iranian regime provides military assistance to Russia, in particular, supplies UAVs and technology. At the same time, Iran, with the help of its proxies, continues to destabilize the security situation in the Middle East.

“We are convinced that the measures taken by the United States together with Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities have sent a clear signal to the Iranian regime that it is inadmissible to continue its policy aimed at destabilizing the security situation in the Middle East,” the Foreign Ministry emphasized.

The ministry emphasized that Ukraine has made the greatest contribution to nuclear disarmament in the history of mankind, therefore it has the moral right to state that the elimination of the Iranian nuclear program will make the Middle East region and the whole world safer.

The US operation against Iran, codenamed “Midnight Hammer”, was carried out on the night of June 22 with the participation of more than 125 aircraft, including 7 B2 stealth bombers.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that as a result of the operation, Iran’s nuclear ambitions were destroyed.
