Within just the first hour of the day and by the morning, there had already been around 100 attack drones launched, dozens of assault actions on key sectors of the front, as well as dozens of airstrikes. This was reported by Zelenskyy on social media, UATV English informs.

Russia has been striking Ukraine in all forms since the start of the day, including attack drones, missile strikes, artillery shelling, frontline assaults and the use of aerial bombs, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Ukrainian authorities have recorded significant damage to civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Kherson regions.

Railway infrastructure, including locomotives operated by Ukrzaliznytsia, was also targeted in several regions, while Ukraine’s energy sector remains a постоянна target of Russian attacks.

According to Zelenskyy, the scale and intensity of the strikes demonstrate that Moscow is not seriously considering a ceasefire. He criticized Russia’s leadership for prioritizing a short-term pause for symbolic events in Moscow while continuing large-scale attacks on Ukraine.

“Russia continues to kill people while showing concern only for a few hours of silence in one part of Moscow,” Zelenskyy said.

Ukraine had proposed a ceasefire starting at midnight on May 6, but the president noted that Russia violated it both yesterday and today. Kyiv, he said, will act “symmetrically,” responding to Russian strikes with its own long-range measures, while remaining open to diplomacy if Russia demonstrates genuine willingness.

“Concrete steps are needed to end the war, and peace will be achieved. The only question is how much time will be lost because of Russia’s actions” Zelenskyy said.
