At the UN headquarters in New York, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and advance diplomatic efforts to stop Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Sybiha wrote on X that he briefed the OSCE chief on the battlefield situation, stressing that Russia remains the main obstacle to peace, as it continues terror attacks on Ukrainian cities, deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and holding innocent civilians hostage.
The minister also highlighted the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia, calling for all possible efforts to secure their return home.
“A comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine — in line with the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act — is the cornerstone of the future security architecture in the OSCE region,” Sybiha emphasized.
Earlier during his U.S. visit, Sybiha took part in a dinner hosted by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and also discussed the issue of Ukrainian prisoners and abducted children with the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States.
