Ukraine was visited by a NATO delegation led by Supreme Allied Commander Transformation Admiral Pierre Vandier, marking the first visit of this level since the beginning of the full-scale war.

This was announced on social media by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa, UATV English reports.

Palisa said that the delegation was headed by Admiral Pierre Vandier, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, and that this is the first visit by NATO military officials of such a high level during the full-scale war.

“We had substantive discussions about involving Ukrainian servicemen in future NATO exercises in the role of a notional adversary (Red Team). Last year’s participation of our units demonstrated to the Allies the newest methods of warfare — in training scenarios, Ukrainian teams showed a significant advantage… Today, Ukraine is not only a consumer of security. Ukraine is its producer,” Palisa noted.

They also discussed the future of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC), which was officially opened at the beginning of 2025.

“We are entering the final stage of deploying Ukrainian command and control systems, developing analytical capabilities, and contributing to the scaling up of training programs,” the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office said.

JATEC, as a joint Ukraine-NATO initiative, is designed to support the development of interoperability between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO forces and to facilitate the exchange of experience between the two sides.
