US President Joe Biden signed H.R. 815 on the national security supplemental that includes $61 billion in military support for Ukraine.

He stated this on Wednesday during an address to the nation.

“I’m making sure the shipments start right away. In the next few hours, literally in a few hours, we are going to begin sending in equipment to Ukraine for air defense, munitions for artillery, for rocket systems, and armored vehicles,” the US President stated in an address to the nation following the signing of the act on supplemental national security funding.

He added that this decision will make both America and the world safer as it continues America’s global leadership.

“If Putin triumphs in Ukraine, the next move of the Russian Russian forces could well be a direct attack on NATO allies,” the US leader emphasized on the importance of the aid.

He also pointed out he was well-aware of the excitement Ukrainians feel as the assistance is on the way to Ukraine.

“This weekend, there were reports […] of cheers breaking out in trenches in eastern Ukraine […] They were cheering as they watched the House vote on support for Ukraine,” said the US President.
