Missile strikes will not help: a military observer named options for damaging the railway line in the Azov region

The Russian occupiers consider the railway under construction from Rostov-on-Don to Crimea along the occupied Azov region as an alternative to the Crimean (Kerch) bridge. Missile attacks on the track will not have the desired result, since it can be restored very quickly; it is necessary to plan more effective operations. Military observer Denis Popovich said this on the FREEDOM TV channel.

“This railway route significantly expands the capabilities of logistics from the Russian Federation to Crimea, and in general for the entire group that now controls the Azov region, it is very important. If we had completely destroyed the Crimean Bridge, completely put it out of action last year, and this railway line did not exist, then we can say that we are gradually taking the occupied Crimean peninsula into the operational cauldron. We can’t talk about this now. Even if we are able to disable the so-called Crimean Bridge, then this railway line will continue to operate,” he explained.

Popovich noted that by building the railway, the Kremlin is insuring itself against the failure of the Crimean Bridge and creating additional opportunities for itself along the land corridor.

“It is unlikely that the Defense Forces will fire missiles at the railway track; other measures are needed here. We need to blow up bridges and viaducts, if they are on the path of this railway line, we need to destroy transformer substations, we need to do something that could stop traffic for a long time, and approach this systematically. If we blow up 100-200 meters of the track, in a day it will be restored and trains will start running again,” the military observer expressed his opinion.
