Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski thinks Germany should consider Taurus delivery to Ukraine after the US revealed they approved ATACMS in its new military package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

That’s according to Wnp.pl.

“I hope that the decision of the United States to send the famous ATACMS missiles to Ukraine will be an inspiration for others,” said Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during a press conference with his counterpart Annalena Baerbock.

Germany’s Foreign Minister claims that the Taurus talks continue in Germany, and the government doesn’t rule anything out. She previously appealed to the government and Olaf Scholz to consider sending Taurus to Ukraine.

She also emphasized Germany is looking for other ways to improve Ukraine’s air defense capabilities alongside partners.

“That’s why I can only join [Sikorski’s position]. I have seen in Odesa and other places I have been to how important air defense is and the systems we have supplied, including Patriot. That’s why, in particular, the Minister of Defense and I have recently launched a new initiative to make more efforts in the world and Europe on air defense,” the Baerbock stated.

Previously, AFP reported that the US also expects Germany to follow American example and make a decision on Taurus delivery. However, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reiterated he didn’t intend to approve Taurus for Ukraine.
