“France, Germany, and the United Kingdom want to deploy their troops in Ukraine as part of security guarantees.”
The US can assist Europe with troop deployment in Ukraine, including providing air support, President Trump said.
In a phone interview with Fox News, Trump said that before a planned trilateral summit between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, Presidents Zelenskyy and Putin should first meet face-to-face. He noted that while he has “good relations” with Vladimir Putin, “what matters is whether we actually get things done — otherwise, I don’t care about those relations.”
When asked whether the previous day’s meeting with European leaders and President Zelenskyy included discussions on a possible territorial exchange between Kyiv and Moscow, Trump gave no direct answer. Instead, he stated that “Ukraine will regain the lives of its people and stop the widespread killing, they will get a lot of land.”
However, it remains unclear from his wording whether Trump meant that Ukraine or Russia would ultimately “get a lot of land.”
