The United States wants diplomacy to work, and the NATO countries and the Russian Federation to meet and be able to speak openly.

This opinion was shared by the official representative of the US State Department Andrea Kalan with the correspondent of UA .

She noted that the United States wants to see de-escalation by Russia and the withdrawal of troops from the borders of Ukraine. Otherwise, according to Kalan, there will be serious negative consequences for the Russian economy, NATO’s presence in countries on the eastern borders will increase and defense assistance to Ukraine will increase.

The representative of the State Department believes that for stability in Europe it is necessary to resolve the situation in Ukraine. She called this topic central to today’s dialogue. Kalan noted that Europe needs peace, and Russia should have diplomacy, not aggression.

To remind, the United States will provide Ukraine with a radar system and marine equipment as part of its assistance to a country that is “in danger”. On the eve CNN reported that the Biden administration confidentially allocated USD 200 million for this purpose.
