In the Russian Federation, a significant decline in the production volumes of dual-use chemical industry products is being recorded, which testifies to the effectiveness of Ukrainian long-range strikes.

As UATV English reports, the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council reported this on Facebook.

“Against the background of the painful gasoline crisis in Russia, a significant decline in dual-use chemical industry products is being recorded. This is also a consequence of Ukrainian long-range strikes,” the CСD noted.

According to Rosstat, compared with the same period last year, production volumes of ammonium nitrate in the Russian Federation fell by 9%. In May alone, the decline reached 14% year-on-year, which became the worst figure since the beginning of the year.

As the CСD explained, ammonium nitrate is a dual-use product. It is not only an important fertilizer for Russia’s agro-industrial complex, but can also be used for the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex.

The CСD noted that “officially, the Russian Federation explains the collapse in fertilizer production by ‘unscheduled repairs’ — a euphemism used by Russian propaganda to denote the consequences of Ukrainian strikes. It is known that recently the Azot chemical plant in Tula region — one of the largest producers of chemical products for the Russian military-industrial complex — came under them.”

“The decline in production in Russia’s chemical industry is another indication of the effectiveness of Ukrainian long-range strikes. And although Russian propagandists are trying to pretend that Ukrainian UAVs do not cause significant damage, even official statistics testify to the exact opposite,” the CСD emphasized.

As reported, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin recently admitted for the first time that Russians and Russian businesses are facing difficulties when buying gasoline.
